And here we are again.  With Halloween and Bonfire Night now out the way, for a lot of people it’s open season on Christmas season; lights being switched on, presents being bought, and most importantly parties being arranged.

But how are you gonna make sure people come away from your party knowing it was the most lit thing going on over the season?

By having the best beats, obviously.

Site contributor and mixtape veteran DJ Hudson isn’t new to the world of Christmas mixes; as part of the Off The Hook crew, he’s one of the team who assembled the Season’s Beatings mixtape series, which has seen heavy rotation from Japan to Hamsterdam and beyond. Soulman aka Phill Most Chill is a legend in the mixtape game; from rap to rock to disco to jazz, he’s got you. And in this mix, he’s bringing to the table some heavy crates of funk and soul Christmas tunes. Quite a lot of these tracks I’ve not heard anywhere else (which is pretty regular for a Soulman mix), and I’ve got to say, this has got to be my ULTIMATE Christmas mix!

Marc Mac – Christmas Miracle Selection

Marc Mac has been all over electronic music since the early 90s, from remixing and producing Drum N Bass, through forming UK legends of the dance/soul scene 4Hero, to remixing Brazilian jazz funk. In this mix he takes you through the the soul, jazz, funk and fuzz favourites, throwing in some lesser known goodies along the way.

DJ Yoda – 5 minute Christmas Mini-Mix

Ok, so your party is lit. Everyone is good, it’s like 5 minutes to closing, or to Christmas day, and you need a quick something something to make it go off.  This is where DJ Yoda comes in.  The man who’s known for his Cut’n’Paste mixes of the early 2,000’s crams pretty much every good Christmas record you need all into an easily digestible five minute chunk! Guaranteed party smasher!

Chris Read and Marc Hype – Merry Christmixx 3: World’s 3rd Greatest Christmas Mixtape!

Q – What do you get when you team up the man behind whosampled.com’s album sample mixes, and a former ITF scratch champ who brings the funk on all projects equally?

A – A seamlessly mixed hour of festive funk, soul, rap and reggae that doesn’t disappoint!

Rob Luis – Brighton Treats with Christmas Beats

The head honcho from Brighton-based jazz/funk/hip hop label Tru Thoughts comes correct with a mix jam-packed with festive reggae heat. And to firmly keep it in it’s own lane, he makes sure to include some exclusive edits from label-mate Quantic.

If you’re going for refined, maybe after music for Christmas dinner, THIS is the joint.
